Giving back to ossabaw island...

Hello there!

   Today I'd like to tell you about the opportunity I had to give back to a Coastal Georgia foundation: The Ossabaw Island Foundation. Every year they do an art auction as a fundraiser. Artists and Photographers who have visited the island and have created an Ossabaw inspired fine art piece can donate it to the foundation for their art auction. This year, I donated the above image, "Ossabaw Night at Torrey Landing". I printed it at 25" x 24" on a Smooth Fine Art paper and framed it with a 1" wood black frame. The retail value is over $300. 

   I captured "Ossabaw Night at Torrey Landing" this past May while leading a photography trip of about 10 photographers to Ossabaw Island for a weekend photography excursion. We were able to capture the Milky Way at Torrey Landing on the north end of Ossabaw Island and we also travelled to the south end of the island (over 10 miles of travel on a dirt road through a dense forest in the back of a truck at night). Once there, we were able to capture the Milky Way and the sunrise where they have a beautiful driftwood boneyard. I'm hoping to lead another trip to Ossabaw in the spring of next year. Ossabaw Island is one of the mostly undeveloped Coastal Georgia barrier islands that is only accessible by boat. There are a few structures on the north end of the island but no paved roads and the rest of the island is a natural forest.

Dates are September 22 thru October 21, 2022.
