Contest Winning Entries

Contest Winners!

October 4th, 2019

As many of you know, I'm a huge supporter of the Georgia Nature Photography Association. This year we again partnered with the Oatland Island Wildlife Center for the 2nd Annual OIWC/GNPA Photography Contest. This was a state wide contest and open to all GNPA members.

I was able to secure a 1st Place win in the Landscape Category with "Stars and Stripes"

Stars and Stripes

The main rule for this category was that it had to depict a landscape in the southeastern part of the United States. The title of this photo comes from the Milky Way stars and the stripes of sand in the dunes. The photo itself was taken on Tybee Island, Georgia.

I received a 5th Place Honorable Mention in the wildlife category with "Egrets Love".

Egrets Love

"Egrets Love" depicts an adult Great Egret getting ready to nuture and feed the baby egret in the nest.

I received another 5th Place Honorable Mention in the Macro Category with "Fuzzy Sunny"

Fuzzy Sunny

Macro is not really my forte, so I was proud and honored to win in this category.

All of the winning entries from all of the categories (24 in all) are framed and will be displayed in a gallery at Oatland Island Wildlife Center, 711 Sandtown Rd., Sav., GA, through December, 2019.
