"Full Harvest Moon" was photographed in September of 2018 in Thunderbolt, Georgia.
"Full Harvest Moon" is a depiction of last shrimp boat to port on the Thunderbolt side of the Wilmington River. Just a couple of years ago there were three shrimp boats to port here. At one time it was more like Darien, Georgia and we had 20-30 shrimp boats that docked in Thunderbolt. Much of the land along River Drive was sold off to condominium and marina developers who have controlled access to the river, even building their condominiums in such a way as to block the public view of the river.
However, I still enjoy seeing the old shrimp boats and admire their tenacity to stay in business and keep providing us with the best local caught Wild Georgia shrimp. It is the best shrimp that you can find anywhere. The Full Harvest Moon is appropriately named for the September full moon when farmers are harvesting their fields. The Shrimp Season is at it's peak in September as well.
"Full Harvest Moon" will make a great fine art piece for anyone who likes shrimp boats, night photography, or full moon photography.
