"The Journey's End" was photographed in September of 2018 on Skidaway Island, Georgia.
"The Journey's End" is a sunrise photograph but it reminds me more of a sunset. With the trail ending at the river, it remind's me of a Journey's End. In particular, it reminds me of the journey of life's end and only a hint of the beauty of what might come after for those that believe or have lived a good loving life. In that sense, I think a sunrise is appropriate. For when we do meet that time which will come for each of us most certainly, and we cross that river, and "Sit down by the Master's side" as the old song goes, I think the sunrise with it's new light and with the promise of a new day is hopefully more appropriate. I was even able to capture a spirit bird in this photo. I enlarged the bird a little so that you can see it better, but it was in the original photograph. A bird, especially a dove, often reminds me of the Holy Spirit. I'm not sure which type of bird this was since it was silhouetted, but it also reminds me of a spirit.
Enjoy! I think this would be a good fine art print for anyone who likes the marsh rivers and sunrises in Coastal Georgia. This is the Wilmington River with Wilmington Island in the background. The photograph was made from the Skidaway Island side.
