"Nature vs Man" was photographed in April of 2019.
Who do you think will win?
Man can certainly exert his or her energies to try to control nature, but there seems to be an endless war brewing. Man, with all his or her energy could destroy most of what we think of as nature and can certainly control many aspects of it. Indeed, man seems to have an insatiable appetite for controlling nature but in many cases ends up destroying it. You know what I mean.... The clear cutting of forestry to make way for new buildings, new neighborhoods, new roads. Building new factories to support our demands for our comfortable quality of life. New cars and automobiles to get us where we are going.
Yet, mother nature is fighting back. The globe is warming or should I say the fight is heating up? Mother Nature is becoming stronger and pushing back. Most of this "global warming" is being blamed on higher levels of carbon in our atmosphere and there is a big push to control it. More frequent and powerful storms are wreaking havoc and those are being blamed on global warming. Where has the push to save our forests gone? Do we still not realize that forests absorb carbon dioxide and work to keep the earth shaded and cool? Not to mention, the forests and waterways support our ever decreasing populations of natural wildlife which we so love to observe. Yet, who will stand to protect them?
The T-Bone jetty (placed there in the 1990's along with other similar shaped jetties) was all but forgot about because it did it's job and stopped beach erosion on that end of the beach. With the hurricanes of Matthew and Irma which impacted the area, sand was eroded and these buried structures are now very much visible again. Hopefully they'll do their job again and work to stop erosion.
While this is a very peaceful scene of the Milky Way at night, the potential energy between the very dynamic fight, "Nature vs Man", exists in this photograph. The answer is simple... We must simply learn to live in greater harmony with our natural surroundings.
