Cockspur Island Lighthouse BW was photographed in...
"Cockspur Island Lighthouse BW" was photographed in May 2015. This old historic lighthouse stands just outside of Fort Pulaski in the south channel of the Savannah River. The current structure was rebuilt in 1855 after the previous lighthouse was destroyed by a hurricane in 1854. It also escaped destruction during bombardment of the fort by union forces during the civil war who had to fire directly over it.
