"Cathedral of St. John the Baptist" was photographed in May of 2017.
The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is an important landmark, historical icon, as well as an important Church for the entire Diocese of Savannah which includes all south Georgia, including Coastal Georgia.
The history of the building can be found here: https://savannahcathedral.org/church-history/
The church as been at the center for religious growth, especially Catholic religious growth in south Georgia for over two centuries and this particular building has been a part of that growth since at least 1876.
It is a beautiful French Gothic style church both inside and out. It has been through a destructive fire and was restored and has gone through renovations over the years to become the building that you see pictured here.
I believe this could be an awesome fine art wall art piece for anyone who likes historical treasures of Coastal Georgia or someone who likes religious icons of South Georgia.
